Potato Soup

Ingredients:
- 2 peeled and sliced medium-sized potatoes
- 2 chopped medium-sized onions
- 4 ribs chopped celery
- 3½ tablespoons butter
- ½ teaspoon salt
- rich milk or chicken stock
- salt and paprika (optional)
- dash worcestershire sauce (optional)
- ½ bay leaf (optional)
- 1 cup chopped sausage, cooked shrimp, or diced ham
- chopped parsley, chives, or watercress
Directions:
Saute potatoes, onions, and celery in 1½ tablespoons of butter.
Then add boiling water to cover, salt, and bay leaf, and boil until
the potatoes are tender. Put in blender, and beat in another 2
tablespoons butter. Thin the soup to the desired consistency with
rich milk and/or chicken stock. Add optional spices if desired, top
with parsley and meat.
