Date Nut Loaf



Pour boiling water over dates and stir in soda and let stand while you prepare the rest of the ingredients.

Cream sugar and shortening; add beaten eggs, salt, vanilla. Add date mixture, flour and nuts, mix well. Pour into greased and floured loaf tin. Bake 1 hour to 1 hr 10 minutes at 350 degree F.

Keep refrigerated to keep moist.
